El esquí de montaña es una disciplina más encontrada dentro del alpinismo invernal y que consiste en el ascenso y descenso de montañas nevadas con la única ayuda de los esquíes, without any type of mechanical propulsion.
The activity will begin with some theoretical and practical explanations about the use, properties and curiosities of the material used for it. Subsequently, practical learning of the correct climbing technique according to the physical environment or weather conditions, using our bindings and choosing the correct size for the most appropriate and economical way of progression. Desde el Puerto de Cotos y una vez adquirido los conocimientos prácticos y teóricos de ascensión y material, comenzaremos el ascenso hacia la cima del Peñalara, que consistirá en un tiempo aproximado de tres horas hasta llegar al espectacular techo de Madrid.
Una vez desde la cima y disfrutado de un merecido descanso observando sus increíbles vistas, comenzaremos con las esperadas explicaciones acerca del descenso controlado sobre pendientes nevadas no tratadas y 100% naturales. De forma detallada y concisa el técnico y guía, os explicará la previa y correcta lectura del terreno, como actuar y qué técnica emplear antes distintos tipos de nieve o hielo encontrado, el correcto posicionamiento de nuestro centro de gravedad ante cada uno de ellos, cómo salir de un espeso banco de nieve, junto con toda una batería de pequeños trucos y consejos que os servirán de gran ayuda para progresar en este espectacular mundo de descenso de montaña invernal.

The meeting and ending point being the Venta Marcelino Bar in El Puerto de Cotos. 28740 Coldscraper, Madrid.
Duration:
The guided ski outing has a total duration of 5 hours of uninterrupted activity.

According to conditions from November to April.
Baptism of Mountain Skiing in Peñalara
- Mountain Guide with a specific qualification in Speleology.
- Individual safety material (harness, casco, mono and frontal).
- Civil Liability and Accident Insurance.
- Common and complementary safety material to carry out the activity.
- Technical training necessary before and during the activity: Correct use of material, progression techniques in caving.
Appropriate clothing and utensils for winter activities:
Spare socks, mountain ski pants, Thermal T-shirt (first layer), Fleece lining or similar (Second layer), Gore-Tex type jacket and pants (third layer),
Light and thin primaloft or down jacket. Neck Gaiter. Thin fleece-type gloves and thick gloves. Hat for the cold and cap for the sun. Schoolbag (in between 30-40 liters).
- Sneakers for the cave (not flip flops), old clothes that you don't mind getting dirty with long sleeves.
- Snack food and water (1 liter).
- Spare clothes and shoes to leave in the car.
- Transportation. Additional service of €10 with departure and return to Madrid.
The Guide will have a total of 5 free places that will be reserved by the first to request and which has an additional cost of €10 as a means of sharing vehicle fuel costs. Or the option that in a particular way, stay at the scheduled time at the starting point of the activity.
